Thank you to everyone who donated a bra, or in some cases a bag full of bras!
Hundreds of you sorted our your drawers and gave away your unwanted bras for our Big Bra Amnesty campaign. Your generosity and spirit has been tremendous.
By the end of the 11 week campaign almost 1,000 bras had been donated. These will now be passed to the Preston based charity International Aid Trust who will be distributing your bras to underprivileged women across the UK and overseas, where they are so desperately needed.
It is simple gestures like this can make such a great difference to other peoples lives.
We’re also thrilled to have been able to support St John’s Hospice of Lancaster, where your bras are also being turned into cash. We’ll be honouring our pledge to give 50p to St John’s Hospice on behalf of every lady who donated bras along with her name and contact details.
Every penny of these funds and the monies raised by some 1,200 ladies at the fabulous Moonlight Walk on 6th June, walking in memory of those we have loved, will help towards the St John’s Hospice ward upgrade which is now in its second phase of development.
If you did donate a bra, and you passed us your contact details along with your bras, we’ll also be writing to you personally to say thank you.
Lots of love and thanks from the team at Woods of Morecambe.
Our illustrious leader Nick Race officially starts the event...
